This has been the background image on my desktop at work ever since May... and I've been hoping, waiting, wishing ever since then.
So please, please, please brave the lines and do your part to fix this mess we're in!
And if you're in San Francisco, vote yes on the measure to rename the Oceanside Sewage Treatment Plant to the George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant! Why, because it's a fitting tribute to the river of shit that is his legacy. it's bad enough that he's going to walk away from all this without held accountable.. So it's probably the best we'll ever get.
And while I'm at it, for those of you in California, please vote NO on prop 8. I mean... seriously? Can anyone give me a reason why we should openly discriminate against anyone? I really can't believe it's as close as it is right now.
Done and done!
I took particular glee in casting my ballot for George Bush, Grand High Potentate of Sewage.
Haha I wish I could vote for the George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant! That's great.
I really do wish I was in California so I could vote for the sewage treatment plant and No again Prop 8. So stupid.
And I have that stupid song in my head now, thanks very much!
So...did the Sewage Plant get renamed??!!
@WendyB: Sadly that measure was defeated... Worse, though, (much much much worse) is the fact that Proposition 8 looks like it's going to pass.
2 steps forward.. 1 step back.
Florida passed a constitutional amendment called the "Florida Marriage Protection Amendment." How utterly stupid. The country takes a giant step forward, and then Florida and California take another right back. Dammit.
I too am dumbfounded that we live in a state which was progressive enough to vote blue, but so egregiously short-sighted as to have passed Measure 8. Here's hoping the courts will find a work-around, but still...that many people actually feel that way? Appalling!
