I know I'm biased, but I love it. It looks so apocalyptic. I could write a whole essay on the meaning of vacant lots in American literature (actually, I HAVE written a whole essay on the meaning of vacant lots in American literature) but this sums it up pretty well too.
I lived here! Well, not exactly here (it's one of the old runways, right? There were two that were perpendicular to each other). I was a kid, we left right before the 1989 earthquake and my third grade "boyfriend's" name was Jason Anthony. I can't wait for my Bay Area vacation. Not that I'm going anytime soon, but I will at some point in the next few years! I love the tones and shades in this fairly monochromatic photo.

Interesting kind of doomsday weapon that obliterates Oakland, but leaves SF intact.
Very dramatic, and cool getting both the foreground and distance in focus.
very cool. but isnt this the same base where they tape mythbusters stuff at? :)
